Japan always has omoshoroi (interesting) potato chip flavours, from mayonnaise to three-cheese (cheddar, emmenthal and camembert) to sesame chicken wing, but if you really wanna *spice* up your potato-chip consumption, check this out. MUJI sells ‘unsalted potato chips’ and individual flavour sachets (about 30 yen), for “As you like it” potato chips. Flavours include consomme, black pepper, smoked cheese, maple sugar, mango chilli, salt caramel and curry.

This reminds me of the McDonalds promotion years ago when you could buy flavour sachets for the chips and you would shake them up just like these.
salt caramel?! very creative aren’t they!
Hi Emily-May, they should’ve kept that going forever! At McDonalds here you can buy Shaka Shaka chicken – choose from 3 flavours of spices, add it to the envelope containing the chicken and shaka, shaka, shaka….

Kobe – yep, salt & caramel is pretty random!! can’t say it would be my first choice but i’m glad to know it’s available, should the desire for salty-caramelly-potato-chips ever strike…
Wow!
