Shirokuma (white bear) parfait – yummy vanilla soft-serve style icecream topped with azuki (red beans), peach, pineapple and cherry. I tried this in Japan last year and loved it, it’s so popular over there, and I think it’s because it’s so simple and not too rich. The fruit on top changes seasonally, I often see slightly different versions of Shirokuma on It Will Stop Raining!

It’s sooo cute! I love the bear! And it looks yummy too(:
Very cute, and it looks good! On the Tirol website, it says there’s a Shirokuma Tirol out now, too!
oooh i want! yet again, you post something here that I instantly want to eat up….haha
yummmm shirokuma… it’s from Kagoshima!
yup it’s one of those cute treats that taste as good as they look! Yay! I think it might be available at Japanese grocers in the frozen section because it’s so popular
Hey, I really enjoy your blog. One question though, you translate ShiroKuma totally literally as White Bear, why didn’t you go with the actual animal – Polar Bear? It’s like Translating Niwa-Tori as ‘Garden-Bird’ instead of ‘Chicken’. Just curious! Keep up the awesome work. Otsukare Sama.
